       Praying Face to face:

If you think about it logically, you will realize that the time you spend in prayer is your most valuable use of time. You are God's child and He is waiting to help you in so very many ways. He is eager to help us, guide us, inspire us and bring us into the fullness of who He created us to be. How serious we are about our prayer time is in direct correlation to how serious we are about our own true success and how meaningful our life will be.

Obviously, there is a time and a place for everything and the same is true for our prayer time. There are all different kinds of, circumstances for, and levels of prayer. Prayer before the Holy Face should be one of our prayer times. My night prayer is kneeling before a sacred image of our Lord, beginning with the act of contrition prayer, as an act of humility and sorrow for all my transgressions, and then a mixture of formal prayers and just talking to our Lord. Sometimes I am swept up into reciting a simple praise verse or I might just remain silent in adoration and contemplation before the Holy Face of our Lord. Pick a time and a place for yourself that is quiet and without distractions where you can pray alone before the sacred image of our Lord. Keep your focus directly on the Holy Face and make eye contact as you pray. Know that our Lord will be totally focused on you and all that you bring before Him in Prayer.

As this becomes a regular form of prayer, you will begin to feel more and more confident that you are not praying to a picture. You are mentally and spiritually connected in a profound way to God. Our Lord wants our attention and by placing His  sacred image as our focal point as we pray from the heart, we experience a deeper connection with God in us, during prayer. That is what it is all about, creating a deeply meaningful conversation with our Lord, our Father, our God.
