The Shroud of Turin

This image of the Holy Face of our Lord is from the ancient burial cloth known as the Shroud of Turin. It is believed that the holy body of Jesus was wrapped in the burial cloth after he was crucified and removed from the cross. Miraculously, a remarkable image was left visible in the cloth. Numerous miracles are associated with the Shroud. While visiting Turin in April of 1980, Pope John Paul II (St. Pope John Paul) referred to the Shroud as a "distinguished relic linked to the mystery of our redemption"
